Charlie is a highly successful Advisor with a unique insight into UK admissions; as President of the world’s most famous debating society - The Oxford Union - he follows former Presidents and Prime Ministers in a role that is a huge asset to our students. In addition to Application Advice, Interview Preparation, Debate and Public Speaking - Charlie assists with exam and test support, having himself achieved the world's highest score in Oxford’s Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) in his year. Charlie understands the need for holistic preparation to any successful application. He is both an Army Officer Scholar and a Lord Kitchener Scholar.

Lydia

Law

University of Cambridge

As an active member of the University of Cambridge's Law Society (one of the largest in the world), Lydia is regularly involved in events with UK Supreme Court Judges and other VIPs. She is an experienced 'Mooter' (legal debate) and writes for legal journals in Cambridge. Having done a wide range of STEM and Humanities A levels and GCSEs, Lydia brings a breadth of experience to her tutoring and enjoys inspiring young people to achieve their best. She regularly assists with world-class essay writing, competition entries and exam performances.

Natural Sciences

Girton College, University of Cambridge

Meet Jeffery, Student of the Year, and National Chemistry Champion. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he is an experienced and passionate Advisor who enjoys personally connecting and academically empowering his tutees. He hopes his time with them can bring them academic success and larger-than-life improvements. Jeffery is fluent in Mandarin and has an exceptionally strong academic background. He has a wealth of experience working with students of all ages, and with his strong academic background and teaching skill, Jeffery helps students excel in Mandarin and the Sciences.

Adam

Music (Scholar)

St Anne’s College, University of Oxford

Having been a scholar at two of the UK’s top institutions (Eton College and Oxford University) Adam understands the rigour required to succeed both at School and at University. This is knowledge that he is passionate about passing on through writing-focused support. Adam won the prestigious Geddes Prize for journalism, an Alma Fellowship and commissions from multiple international papers. This allows students to learn how to write with both style and clarity. He also advises on Music; he represented Britain at the World Piano Conference, and is a recipient of a Royal Philharmonic Society Prize for Composition.

Ahmed is part of our team of accomplished Law Advisors. He has extensive experience with successful applicants to prestigious UK Law schools, and is dedicated to sharing his personal experience of a world-leading education with all our students. His passion and extensive knowledge enables students of all ages to begin to develop their legal awareness, with seminars, Oxbridge-style ‘Advisorials’ and workshops - all providing excellent experience for our young lawyers-to-be! This experience engages fantastically with our contacts at Law Firms across the world, who are able to offer informal advice about the world of work beyond the classroom.

Medicine

Newnham College, University of Cambridge

Phoebe assists with all Medical applications made by Avernus students. This is a great personal passion of hers and, as a student at the University of Cambridge, something she has excelled at herself. Phoebe gives an insight to the academic path those interested need to take to become a Doctor, and can answer questions about Science applications of all kinds at Cambridge. Recognising that all high-achieving students must do well at their Science GCSEs means the she also supports many different students with their knowledge enhancement. Favouring a rigorous syllabus-based approach ensures that all students achieve their very best.

To make sure you go to the right university, it’s important to start preparing early so that you have enough time to research different universities and programs, take the necessary tests, and perfect your personal statement. By starting early, you will have a better chance of getting into your top-choice universities.
