SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES

Welcome to Avernus Education's Honorary Scholarship Pathway and Bursary Support Initative. We are delighted to offer financial assistance to exceptional students for all of our programmes and courses. 

 

Our Honorary Scholarship Programme recognises outstanding students with exceptional academic abilities and critical thinking skills. Successful applicants will receive significant financial assistance on course and programme fees. For students in need of financial support, our Bursary Programme offers up to 100% reduction on course fees, enabling them to attend our Summer Camps, online programmes, or other residential courses.

Creating Opportunities

Meet Emily, an Avernus Honorary Academic Scholar! Emily is a student at Marlborough College UK currently studying Politics, Psychology and Philosophy at A-level and hopes to read Law at King's College University London. Emily won an academic scholarship on Avernus Education's Oxford Summer Programme with the intention of exploring her passion further and discovering more about politics, international relations and law.

Programmes have specific eligibility and selection criteria. Honorary Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, while Bursaries will be awarded based on financial needs. Applicants must complete an essay as part of the application process. We encourage you to review the eligibility and selection criteria carefully and submit your application before any deadline. HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP

​Avernus Education takes great pride in presenting its esteemed Honorary Scholarship Programme, which recognizes exceptional students with outstanding academic abilities and critical thinking skills. This distinguished programme is designed exclusively to provide financial assistance and broaden access to our educational services, along with presenting the title of Honorary Scholar (HS).

 

Eligibility:

Honorary Scholarship applicants must be

  • Aged between 14-18 at the time of course or programme application.

  • Available to attend our Residential Summer Courses.

  • Eligible to live and study in the UK for the duration of the programme.
     

Selection criteria:
Honorary Scholarships will be awarded to the winner of our International Essay Competition 2024.

ACADEMIC BURSARY

​For students in need of financial support, Avernus Education offers the option of applying for a Bursary. Successful applicants will be granted up to a 100% reduction on the course fee, enabling them to attend our Residential Summer Courses.

Eligibility:

Bursary applicants must be

  • Aged between 14-18 at the time of course or programme application.

  • Available to attend our Residential Summer Courses.

  • Eligible to live and study in the UK for the duration of the programme.

  • Be able to prove financial hardship.
     

Selection criteria:

  • Bursary will be awarded based on financial needs.
     

Financial proof requirement:

This will be assessed on a case by case basis. You will have to meet one or more of the following criteria

  • Show that you would otherwise be unable to attend the course

  • Attending a fee-paying school with scholarship/bursary

  • In receipt of financial assistance scheme from government

  • Receiving free school meals

You will have to complete an essay as part of the application process. The essay should answer the following question: What will you contribute to the residential summer programme?
 

The maximum word limit is 500 words. There is no minimum word limit. The essay will have to be uploaded as a separate document in the form. We recommend you draft your essay in advance.

Here are some important details to keep in mind:​

  • The deadline for submitting the bursary application form is two months before the start date of the course or programme.

  • We recommend completing the essay question in advance, as it is not possible to save the form before submitting it.

  • Applicants must submit a school report, reference letter, financial proof (for bursary applicants), and their essay response in one form of submission.

  • Successful applicants will receive a full or partial reduction in the participation fee to attend Avernus Education's courses, programmes, or residential experiences.

  • Bursaries are only valid for participation in the cycle or course named, and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative courses.

  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their bursary application within 2-4 weeks of submission. 

  • Successful applicants must respond to accept or decline their offer within 5 working days.
